I finally got my iPhone and I am loving it. Hundred times better than the crap Sprint phone I had but there are some things that have me guessing. Such as with the iTune on the phone. I get why you can only use it with Wi-Fi but why can’t I see what’s in my shopping cart? I have a list of stuff that I would like to get but haven’t gotten around to it and if I could just do it on my phone when the mood hit me, why not?
I was going to do this really long Halo 3 review. It was going to be great but this video pretty much covers it.
I went to the Kansas Speedway over the weekend to watch the Busch and Nextel Cup races there and it was fun but if lights were there nothing that happen at the end of the race would of been a big deal. So let me tell you want happen.
On Sunday was the Nextel Cup race and it was to start at 1pm. Problem number one right there but lets move on. After a few laps rain started and the race was stopped. The rain was short so they dry the track and start again. This time for till they got past halfway and the rain came again only this time there was a lot of it. Now when the race gos past halfway, Nascar can call the race for whatever reason and it would be official. If they don’t get to halfway you have to start again the next day. Now with the high winds that day the rain moved away pretty fast and they again go about drying the track. This took almost 3 hours.
There is this game coming out and I think its name is Halo. From what I can tell it has this guy in a green armor and it take place in space. Not sure what its about but dam if it isn’t everywhere.
Ya, we get it Bungie. Halo 3 is about to be released. And like Gears of War it is going to be the best game ever. Problem is that I don’t care anymore. You have Master Chief everywhere. Its just a game. We buy it, we play it and then me more on. Look at BioShock. Pretty good game but I am done with it. Not going to play it again. Now for you multi player people this might just be the game your looking for.
Digg someday will have a image section but some people didn’t want to wait for that. This is where Peteris Krumins comes into the picture (get it!). He went ahead and made a website called digpicz.com that pulls all the post from Digg.com that have pic/pics/images/etc. words in titles or descriptions and puts them on his page. He has a post on his site about what it took to make it work and if you read thru it you will see that it took a good amount of work. I started to think there must be a much easyer way to do this.
A few weeks ago I wrote about the BioShock Demo and how cool it was. I wrote about how I was not really into it till the demo came out how it hooked me but the problem now is that I can’t find it. Really its no where to be found. I was at the mall today and went into GameStop and not one copy to be seen anywhere. Its unreal. Even with the messed up release of Gears of War there were still copies everywhere.
The part that sucks the most is that I was ready to pay the $60 for the game, something that I never do for a single player game, and nobody has it. I even went into a place I hate (Blockbuster) to see if it was there and of course it wasn’t. But the good part is that since I can’t find it I just saved $60 because now I will just wait till I can rent it for a few days and it will only cost me $5. On the other hand I am still going to spend the $60 when The Orange Box comes out.
I started off dual booting Vista and Ubuntu and loved it. Didn’t love getting the two to dual boot but once that was covered it was great. The only reason I was going into Vista was to use iTunes and download podcasts. Now I know that there are ways to download podcast and get them to your iPod on Linux but iTunes makes it so easy. Anyway after a keneral update, Ubuntu won’t boot and I didn’t fell like going over what could be wrong so I just formatted the drive and put Ubuntu as the only OS.
That was fine till I started trying to get Compiz-Fusion to work. Add that its still in beta and that I have a ATI card and that theres no real easy way to install video drivers in Ubuntu and I said fuck it again. Format the drive and get out my XP cd. Now that I am back on XP I don’t see any reason to go back to Ubuntu or upgrade to Vista. I really can’t think of anything that Ubuntu or Vista have that would want to make me switch. Maybe after Service Pack 1 for Vista comes out or Ubuntu gets a little better that might change but for now XP still has everything that I need.
So, Windows Genuine Advantage stops working. You know that little program that pings Microsoft every so often to see if your using Vista or XP legally. So what do you do if it go’s off-line? Don’t have it ping back to home right. Ok but most people don’t know how to stop that. Now lets say your installing XP or Vista and you have to ping home to get it to work fully, now what? You don’t get a fully working copy that’s what. When is going to be fixed? Microsoft support is saying not till Tuesday, August 28 – 3 days from now. And if you so get marked as non-genuine after it pings back don’t reboot. Then you have to call and go over all the crap just to prove you have a copy of Windows that you paid for. So how do you get away from all of this?
No known species of reindeer can fly. But there are 300,000 species of living organisms yet to be classified, and while most of these are insects and germs, this does not completely rule out flying reindeer, which only Santa has ever seen.
There are 2 billion children in the world (persons under 18). But since Santa doesn’t (appear to) handle Muslim, Hindu, Jewish, or Buddhist children, that reduces the workload by 85% of the total–leaving 378 million according to the Population Reference Bureau. At an average (census) rate of 3.5 children per household, that’s 91.8 million homes. One presumes there is at least one good child per house.
Back when Star Trek: TNG was on Fox every week I use to watch it all the time. Out all the episodes that I have seen there are two quotes that have always stayed with me. One is by Brent Spiner who played Data, an android who could feel human emotions. In this episode there is a dark cloud in front of the Enterprise. All sensors on the ship are showing that there is nothing in front of them but they can still see it. They can see that is has a shape, it has mass and there for must have weight but there sensors are showing that it has no dimensions. Thats when Data asked the question “Is no dimension at all a dimension within its self?”.
That in a round-about way led me to the book Flatland by Edwin A. Abbott. Its the story of a square living in a two dimensional world (Flatland) when he is visited by a sphere from the three-dimensional world (Spaceland). The sphere tries to tell the square about Spaceland but the square doesn’t understand till he is taken from Flatland into Spaceland. From there the square starts to wonder if a forth, fifth, and sixth dimensions could be.
As luck would have it you can check out this book online with Google Book Search and many other places. But I would rather read the book with it in my hands then online and you can get it from Amazon for under $5.00. Not a bad deal at all.
